ROYAL THEATRE: RENOVATION –RECONSTRUCTION
The project concerns the overall renovation and reconstruction of the Royal Theatre Building. Constructed on designs by architects K. Doxiadis and A. Scepters, the building was inaugurated in 1940 and is now the oldest surviving theatre in Thessaloniki. The Royal Theatre has for many decades been the venue for great performances by famous artists of the Greek post-war drama, and has up to now been the home of the Second Stage of the State Theatre of Northern Greece. The project actually concerns the construction of a new theatre, maintaining its original shape and increasing its depth. The new Royal Theatre will be the most significant theatre hall for prose, but it will also serve as the venue for other forms of art, such as dance and musical performances, cultural events, movie screenings, conferences, exhibitions, etc. Its main hall is of a capacity of 800 seats, while the Experimental Stage has a seating capacity of 150 people.
The project is currently under construction.
Our Organization in cooperation with other firms (our participation rate is 44 %) has provided the following services for the specific project:
- Project management,
- Preparation of Preliminary Study
- Preparation of the Tender Documents
- Design Management and Control
- Scheduling and Cost Control
- Technical supervision of the construction and equipment installation
- Organisation of the Temporary and Final Commissioning of the Project
- Support in securing financing.
The project is delivered complete and in operational condition with all the above provided services. In addition to construction, it includes the complete equipment of individual areas (general and special electrical and mechanic equipment, furniture, signs etc). Our Organisation also provides administrative support for the maintenance of the areas and the equipment.
